A True Story from JFS

Our Help@Home Program=Independent Living.

A widow in her 70’s cares for her ill son. H@H installed smoke detectors—she had none, despite a fire several years ago. We raised the toilet for easier access and installed a ceiling fan. She uses JET regularly and enjoys the theater tickets that we provide her!

Another elderly widow is now using a computer she hadn’t used in years! We provided her with a new keyboard, set up internet and email accounts, and taught her how to use everything. She can finally communicate with her children via the net. We also elevated her front sidewalk with pavers, making access to her home much easier and safe. We even replaced the battery in her car!

JFS helped an older couple set up a Digital TV converter so they now have full cable. The whole world just opened up to them! Since the husband is very hard of hearing, we set up a wireless headphone to the TV, so he didn’t have to blast the volume and disturb his wife and daughter.

That’s how one of our Help@Home clients says she feels with JFS by her side to help her keep up her home, get to her doctors’ appointments, and even mow her lawn.

Handyman, computer geek, lawn mower, a ride to the grocery store. Whatever our Help@Home clients need to make their lives comfortably independent, we either do for them or help them find it.
